A Women’s Air Jordan 1 Mid Is Finished in University Blue

Although the Air Jordan 1 Mid has not yet surpassed its taller counterpart as the most sought-after version of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker, it has won over dozens of former detractors with its compelling colorways. The mid-top silhouette has returned to “University Blue” and “White” in a new arrangement for its latest attempt to convert sceptics to believers.

At first glance, the newly-surfaced pair resembles the University of North Carolina-themed Air Jordan 1 that was last seen in 2015 (or 2018 if you count Off-rendition), White’s but a closer examination reveals several differences. To begin, the model sports a shorter silhouette, as evidenced by the eight – not nine – eyelets. Additionally, the colour blocking on the collar and ankle panels reverses what’s seen on previous Jordans inspired by #23’s collegiate career: the off-white “Wings” insignia-branded flaps are paired with light blue underlays that match the smooth leather panels found throughout the upper. However, Nike Dunk-inspired sole units borrow a tried-and-true colour scheme that incorporates the style’s signature blue into the made-for-basketball tread.

The brand has not yet announced an official Nike.com release date, but that is likely to change as spring approaches. Meanwhile, take a look at the official images ahead.

Additionally, the Jordan 12 “Playoffs” have been officially postponed until March 2022.
