Jimmy Butler enters his 14th NBA season as one of the most well-rounded players in the league. Consistently ranking among the NBA’s best two-way players, the driving force behind the Heat’s identity and culture followed in the footsteps of his longtime friend and former teammate Dwyane Wade, parting ways with Jordan Brand in late 2020 and opting to sign with Li-Ning – the Chinese brand that has offered the The Flash’s Way of Wade collection for more than a decade.
A year and a half after joining the business, Butler’s first trademark silhouette, the JB1, has been formally revealed.
The design was debuted last Wednesday during the Miami Heat’s season opener against the Chicago Bulls, drawing inspiration from Butler’s predatory mentality on the floor by turning the forefoot’s cup sole into the appearance of fangs. The “Tough” colorway seen below is comprised of a tough fiber with a black and orange top and a full-length carbon fiber plate with a gradient of yellow, purple, and orange that is mirrored by the midsole logo. A redesigned tread incorporates the brand’s signature BOOM cushioning technology and a Honeycomb Cellular LOC outsole for enhanced grip. The prevailing construction underfoot has a clad vivid orange sample that also fills the sock liner and dashed laces above, completing the design aspects of the model.
Currently accessible in China, please be patient as we await news of an impending release in the United States. Enjoy official photographs of the Li-Ning JB1 “Tough” in the interim.
