Kobe’s Rookie Year adidas Top Ten 2000 Returns After A Two Year Hiatus

The adidas Top Ten 2000 has been tucked away in The Three Stripes’ archives for the past few years. Initially establishing its historic dominance as a hardwood staple for the League’s best in the 1970s – and later modernized for a new generation by Kobe Bryant – the shoe has been relegated to The Three Stripes’ archives. adi is inserting the comeback of the famous model into the brand’s journey back through their archive of basketball-ready designs, with the ongoing ensembles of the Forum and the newly discovered D. Rose 1.5’s and Crazy 1’s.

The reintroduction of the Top Ten 2000 has the same colorway that Kobe wore on his feet for his first media day, evoking the immensely famous 90s style of mixed-material uppers and hefty structures. The model’s top sections, including the mudguard, quarter overlay, and gold-branded lace closures, are comprised of suede and heavily coated with “Legend Ink.” Underneath, a mesh fabric forms the tongue and heel collar, while color-matched elastic forefoot straps secure the shoe. In addition to the ankle and tongue “adidas Equipment” logos, the leather-coated midfoot panels have a “Cloud White” hue that contrasts with the upper. Additional innovative decorations include “Team College Burgundy” draw tabs emblazoned with the model’s signature fun emblem, as well as bulbous branding on the heel counter.

The adidas Top Ten 2000 is now available for $140 at the retail locations listed below. In the meanwhile, please enjoy these official photographs of the OG duo.

In other news from the basketball division of The Three Stripes, the adidas Crazy 1 returns in the Lakers-associated “Regal Purple” colorway.
