Reebok and former Reebok designer Nicole McLaughlin introduce her interpretation of the Club C Geo Mid, one of Reebok’s newest women’s models. The silhouette made its debut earlier this season as a mid-cut variant of the iconic Club C Double Geo, which debuted in 2021.
McLaughlin transformed her passion for upcycling from a pastime into a business in 2018, after her 2015 start with Reebok. Since then, she has turned a huge assortment of abandoned and thrifted materials, including volleyballs and gummy candies, into usable footwear, clothes, and accessories, such as slippers, shorts, and bralettes.
The Nicole McLaughlin x Reebok Club C Geo Mid incorporates an additional storage pocket along the medial, lateral, and heel, echoing pockets seen on hiking backpacks. This detail honors McLaughlin’s goal to design highly practical objects. Additionally, the tongue incorporates a lace garage for storing shoelaces out of the way.
McLaughlin said, “I researched the Reebok archive and took inspiration for these shoes from the 1996 Reebok Etna Mid.” “The plan was to take design inspirations from a discontinued model, adapt them to a new profile, and update it with contemporary materials and accents, such as ripstop nylon and luminous binding. I wanted to include my passion for the outdoors, hiking, and the path in my project.
On December 5th, limited quantities of the Nicole McLaughlin x Reebok Club C Geo Mid will release exclusively on StockX through DropX for $160 USD, with revenues going to the non-profit Sky High Farms. On December 9th, a larger rollout will occur at select stores and Reebok.com.
