With the recent resurgence in popularity of some of Nike basketball’s most beloved silhouettes, some netizens have taken to social media to demand Swoosh “bring back the foam.”And while this year’s summer isn’t over yet, rumors have surfaced that a style like the Nike Air Fomposite One “Metallic Red” will return in 2023.

Revealed via Twitter by self-proclaimed “sneakerman” Brendan Dunne, Enerfi “Penny” Hardaway’s first signature sneaker is set for a re-release during the summer of 2023.The predominantly “Metallic Red”-clad duo debuted in 2017, with a lot injected.The Nike Air Foamposite line requires energy.The mid-2010s saw the dominance of Beetle-inspired basketball shoes, arguably culminating in 2012 with the release of the “Galaxy” foam.The “Metallic Red” offering was a return-to-form for the Eric Avar-designed.That sneaker enthusiasts were tired of all the over-print makeovers seen by Nike Fomposite throughout the latter half of the decade.A shimmering ruby-colored ensemble, no profile swoops and “black” contrast reminiscent of the original “Royal” style from 1996.
