Nike Upgrades The Air Force 1 With Swoosh-Shaped Carabiners

The Nike Air Force 1 has been reinvented hundreds of times since the 1980s. Recently, Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design was updated with swoosh-shaped carabiners at the profiles, ostensibly to appeal to the brand’s outdoors-obsessed demographic.

On its own, the latest Air Force 1 Low sticks to a predominantly “White” and “Black” colour scheme, but detailing on and near the tongue, combined with the aforementioned utilitarian tool on the sidewalls, adds another tally to the sneaker’s experimental catalogue. The “Habanero Red” carabiner is secured on the lateral sides by a series of elastic loops, creating an ACRONYM-inspired aesthetic. No information has been released at this time, but it’s possible that this AF-1 is part of a larger Nike Sportswear collection featuring swoosh-shaped attachments.

The brand has not confirmed a firm release date, but that is likely to change as summer approaches. Meanwhile, take a look at official images of the pair ahead.
