The New Balance 2002R may be most popular in its “Refined Future” iteration (mistakenly labeled the “Protection Pack”), but the silhouette continues to blend legacy and current aesthetics in such a compelling manner that even hyper general releases – “Refined Future” being one – do well.
Recently, the once-failed lifestyle design appeared in a “Steel,” “Lead,” and “Orca” color scheme that recalls some of New Balance‘s most recognizable products. Mid-foot inlays have a deeper hue than their surrounds, adding contrast to the overall appearance. Profile “N” logos, “2002R” branding on the lateral heel, and panels on the spine are rendered in an off-white hue, as is the Nergy-enhanced midsole. Lastly, the lone unit’s details prefer either grey or black finishes.
