The November 4 release date of the New Balance 990v6 has been revealed after more than a year of suspense.
The sixth edition of the 990 series, which has been commemorating its 40th anniversary, was unveiled through Instagram and promoted as a Made In USA product. It aesthetically and structurally improves New Balance’s cherished legacy design for the next 40 years. For starters, the shoe ditches the tried-and-true cushioning solutions that have found a home among parents in Ohio and models in Paris in favor of the FuelCell foam featured in the brand’s performance running alternatives. The upper’s design language is also updated, aiming for a sportier appearance with more curved lines and chiseled components.
Given that the firm has released the shoe as a Made In USA silhouette, Teddy Santis of Aimé Leon Dore is responsible for its design. As a result, it seems probable that the Queens-born designer will get first dibs on a collaboration atop the 990v6 (assuming Action Bronson’s rendition doesn’t leak first). Prior to that, though, the shoe will launch in a grey hue inspired by tradition.
The 990v6 will be available on newbalance.com on November 4th for $195 USD, as shown in the official photographs provided below.
