The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Reintroduces “Medium Grey”

While the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 is a far cry from the decade in which it was born, it continues to deliver late-twentieth-century style to modern audiences. The made-for-basketball proposition has been reimagined in “Medium Grey” suede for its latest ensemble.

As with dozens of other Nike SB-modified iterations, the newly-surfaced pair features a hairy fabric that covers the majority of the upper. Toe and lateral forefoot reinforcement are also included, while profile swooshes add synthetic smooth leather to the mix. Further evocative of its 1970s debut, the mid-top Nike Blazer features a slightly yellow tone on the aforementioned sidewall logo and the sole unit beneath the foot, the latter component evocative of the sea of “Neo-vintage” customs that have engulfed countless social media feeds over the last two years. Each component contributes to the creation of a proposition that is equal parts “old school” and “new school,” a combination mastered by NIKE, Inc.

Enjoy official images of the pair below, and keep an eye out for a Nike.com release date as spring and summer approaches.
