As absurd as it may sound, food and sneakers are inextricably linked. Some of the most memorable releases have been inspired in some way by the culinary world, with the most notable directly emulating dishes such as burgers, waffles, and bacon. Nike is reintroducing their chef hat with this upcoming Dunk Low, infusing the silhouette with a hint of avocado.
By eschewing toast entirely, the colorway takes its cues directly from the avocado in its most natural state. The rough, dark green shell serves as inspiration for the upper, with the leather even mimicking the texture. Along the edges, lighter greens add dimension, while the lining and suede collar mirror the edible flesh. Additionally, the insole is dyed a similar shade to the pit, completing the overall homage to the fruit.
The Dunk Low “Avocado,” which features graphic tags reminiscent of those found in grocery stores, should be available soon via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
Additionally, the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Oreo may make a return this Spring.
