Todd Snyder Revisits ’70s Workout Gear With The New Balance 237 “City Gym”

Todd Snyder and New Balance have been pretty silent over the last year, but they have now debuted the NB237 “City Gym,” the newest chapter in their famous partnership.

Inspired by the American designer’s first pop-up on Elizabeth Street in New York City, the next pair has a grey-on-grey pattern reminiscent of 1970s gym attire. Given its waffle-tread outsole, satin and suede top, and running pedigree, the New Balance 237 organically evokes the period. The grayscale color palette is deceivingly basic, but Todd Snyder’s “City Gym” New Balance sneakers are fashionable.

Since we established the first City Gym, the varsity trend has only increased, Snyder said in an official news statement. This shoe takes everything we love about old-school sports design and presents it in a contemporary manner.

The “City Gym” pair will be available by raffle on toddsnyder.com on October 17th and in-store at select stores on October 19th. The price of the sneaker is $130 USD.
