Tyrrell Winston’s Collaboration With Reebok Incorporates A Minimal Club C

While the name “Tyrrell Winston” may be unfamiliar, anyone who has spent time in the intersection of art, sport, and streetwear over the last decade is certain to have encountered a series of deflated, used basketballs arranged in gird-like patterns. If so, you are familiar with the work of the New York-based artist.

Winston recently teased a Club C as part of his upcoming collaboration with the Massachusetts-based institution. The pair, which was revealed via Instagram, adheres to the same simple white and black colour scheme as his mid-top Question, though it heavily favours the former tone. As with previous works by JJJJound, Eames Office, and Patta, Winston’s work does not reinvent the tennis classic, preferring to highlight the 30-something-year-personality old’s through subtle updates. The upper is made of smooth leather, while the inner lining is made of a plusher fabric; faux fur heel panels complete the look. While the profile windows are unbranded, the self-trained artist’s interpretation of the New York Yankees’ “NY” logo is printed on the tongue label and sock liner of the left shoe. Finally, both shoes feature Tyrrell Winston’s signature visible through the translucent outsoles, a detail he added to a Michael Jordan-signed basketball in a highly publicised incident.

Take a first look at the pair below, and keep an eye out for the artist’s go-to studio shoe to release soon on Reebok.com.

In other sneaker news, on February 17th, the red Yeezy 350 v2 CMPCT will release.
