After bringing snakeskin patterns to their classic models such as the Air Force 1, Blazer, and Air Max 97, Nike is gearing up to transfer some reptilian character to this impending iteration of the Air Max 90. Fittingly dubbed the “New Species”, these Maxes are constructed with a platinum grey suede upper featuring tonal scales arranged on its tongues, lateral panels, and toe tips. Striking hits of electric green make their way onto the Swoosh logos, midsoles, and outsoles supplying these with a contrasting pop of color and venomous attitude. In addition, a beige hue arrives on the ankle collars, sock liners, and insoles for some additional accent, potentially nodding to the sandy floors and desert dunes that these cold-blooded animals roam about. Expect these to drop at select Nike retailers on September 28th for $160 USD, and peep a closer look at the pair here below.
